Disney’s continued push of woke politics and LGBTQ ideology onto children has had dire consequences for the company. Despite public objections, Disney has remained defiant in its stance on these issues, and now the company is facing the payback. In 2022, Disney saw its worst year since 1974, when the company’s stock dropped 54 percent. This was due to a whopping $123 billion being wiped from its market value due to its identity politics.
The latest round of layoffs were initially announced by former CEO Bob Chapek and kept by Iger as a way to save more costs amid rising economic challenges. Outside of Iger and other members at the highest levels of the Disney C-suite, no employee has seemed safe from termination, given the likes of longtime Marvel boss Ike Perlmutter have received pink slips during the layoffs.
It is clear that Disney’s push of ‘woke’ and LGBTQ ideology onto children has had a devastating effect on the company. It is time for Disney to realize that their liberal agenda is not what their customers want, and that it is not worth sacrificing their employees’ livelihoods to push a political agenda. It is time for Disney to focus on what made them successful in the first place: entertaining and inspiring children with classic stories and characters.
Disney’s decision to push a liberal agenda has been a costly mistake. The company has already lost over 6,500 jobs due to their decisions, and the number is expected to rise to 7,000 before the start of summer. This is a huge blow to the employees who have been laid off, as well as their families.

Disney needs to learn from this mistake and focus on what made them successful in the past. It is time for them to put an end to pushing their ‘woke’ and LGBTQ ideology onto children and instead focus on creating entertaining and inspiring stories that will bring joy to children around the world. It is time for Disney to put their employees first and stop sacrificing their livelihoods for a political agenda.
