In a stunning display of hypocrisy, the liberal media has once again attempted to brush off the damning revelations of the Durham report as old news. Despite what they claim, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz did not say that there was no evidence of bias at the FBI during the 2016 election and the Clinton email probe. In fact, as the Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley Strassel pointed out, the report is evidence of just how deep the bias at the FBI ran. While they may not have any “documentary” evidence of specific decisions made to aid a candidate, there is proof of plenty of bias to cast a shadow of doubt over the entire investigation’s credibility.

Meanwhile, the FBI has somehow come to the conclusion that there was no criminal activity involved in their investigation of the Clinton Foundation, which continued until the very last days of the Trump administration. This is a startling claim given the fact that they buried four separate investigations – including three involving the Clinton Foundation – prior to the 2016 election. It is simply inconceivable that the FBI could have been a neutral, apolitical agency during the election and beyond. As the investigation between the Clinton Foundation and foreign donors under then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton under President Obama finally fizzled out, it became clear that there was not a single good reason to have kept it open – aside from partisan fervor on the part of Democrats to try and take down then-candidate Donald Trump.
The documents that were released as part of a brief look into the investigation’s handling reveal that many of the top prosecutors involved in the case actually had their doubts about it from the very start. However, it is commonly accepted that the case was kept alive simply because it was useful as a rallying cry for Republicans who wanted to make hay on claims of corruption and deceit in the Clinton Foundation. The FBI found themselves entangled in a web of tension as they believed the Justice Department was actively working against them to prevent them from doing their job. Andrew G. McCabe, then the deputy director of the FBI, was eventually caught leaking information about the investigation to the Wall Street Journal and was fired over it in 2018.
Given everything that has come to light in the past few years, it is impossible to trust the conclusion that the FBI came to about this case. They have already shown themselves to be willing to lie about Russian collusion and have used phony evidence to spy on the Trump campaign. Peter Strzok, the man who approved the fake counterintelligence investigation, famously declared that he would stop Trump from becoming president while texting his lover, Lisa Page. Given all of this, it is impossible to take the FBI’s word for anything – especially when they are known to be infiltrated by rabid liberals and Obama holdovers who have leaked sensitive information and sabotaged the Trump administration at every turn. It’s clear that the liberal media does not care about the truth and will continue to promote liberal propaganda at every opportunity. It’s time they drop the pretense of objectivity and admit their bias.
