In a recent gathering at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, former Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton joined forces with the current president, Joe Biden, for a lavish $26 million fundraiser. The event was a showcase of elitism and inside jokes that only the liberal elites could appreciate. The self-congratulatory atmosphere was so thick you could cut it with a knife, as the ultra-wealthy donors guffawed and sipped their champagne.

The ultra-liberal late-night host Stephen Colbert sycophantically pandered to the trio, setting the tone for the night with snide comments and cringe-worthy attempts at humor. Perhaps the most cringe-worthy moment of the night occurred when Colbert teased Biden about Air Force One, insinuating that the doors might fall off the plane. Biden chuckled along, clearly unfazed by the tasteless joke.
During an awkward exchange about dogs, Biden attempted to make light of his former boss, Obama, by referencing a botched quote from Harry Truman. The attempt at humor fell flat, leaving the audience of wealthy liberals polite-clapping in uncomfortable silence.
Colbert, always the jesting jester, took a jab at former President Donald Trump’s golfing habits, questioning if voters could trust a president who hadn’t won a championship at his own golf course. Biden, attempting to play along, offered to give Trump three strokes in a game—perhaps an allusion to his time in office. The whole exchange reeked of condescension and smugness.
In another attempt to belittle Trump, Colbert insinuated that the former president’s legal troubles prevented him from attending the event. The audience collectively snickered, reveling in the mockery of their political foe.
As the evening dragged on, Colbert vainly attempted to reel in the loquacious trio, offering them time limits for their responses. The president was afforded additional time, not out of respect for the office, but due to the implied threat of SEAL Team 6 at Colbert’s disposal—a distasteful joke referencing a previous administration’s military operations.
The event culminated with Colbert attempting to coax Obama into allowing him to address the former president by his first name. An act of faux familiarity that reeked of desperation and a sad attempt to cling to relevance on the part of the host.
The evening oozed with smug self-congratulation and elitist snobbery, as the liberal triumvirate hobnobbed with wealthy donors in their ivory tower. The event epitomized the left’s disconnect from everyday Americans, as they basked in their own righteousness and chuckled at their jokes that fell flat to the rest of the country.
