After weeks of a tense standoff, FBI Director Christopher Wray has acquiesced, delivering an unclassified FBI document linked to allegations that then-Vice President Joe Biden was mired in a criminal bribery scheme with a foreign national to the Capitol Hill. This turn of events came just before the Director was threatened with being held in contempt of Congress for refusing to adhere to subpoenas from the House Oversight Committee. Chairman James Comer (R-KY) spearheaded the charge against the Director. Interestingly, the document was brought to light by a whistleblower. And although the general public won’t be privy to the document,

Oversight Committee Chairman Comer and Ranking Member Jamie Raskin (D-MD) will review the document in a special SCIF facility. Republicans have been investigating multiple aspects based on whistleblower disclosures, and achieving this minor success signifies another significant win that strengthens the Congress’ ability to hold the Biden administration accountable. What is still entertaining to ponder over is why Director Wray was so adamant about not bringing the document to the Capitol for oversight from Congress. It begs one to question whether one has nothing to hide, why resist? On Capitol Hill, the veil over the allegations of what the alleged pay-for-policy scheme then-VP Biden undertook may soon be lifted, providing the public justice, equality, and accountability.
