Gov. Kristi Noem of South Dakota has been making headlines for her recent, uh, toothy situation. The governor decided to show off her pearly whites in a nearly 5-minute video promoting Smile Texas, a cosmetic dentistry company located in, you guessed it, Texas. Now, hold onto your hats, because here comes the juicy part – there’s some speculation floating around about whether Gov. Noem received some cash for flashing her new smile on social media.

In the video, Gov. Noem attributes her dental makeover to a biking accident and highlights the stellar work of Smile Texas, gushing about how they gave her a smile to be proud of. She even goes as far as to champion dentist Bret Davis’s work, all while giving us plenty of up-close shots of her dazzling new grin.
Now, some folks are scratching their heads over this whole ordeal. Why is a sitting governor pumping out what looks like an infomercial for a private company, especially one that’s not even based in South Dakota? The critics are coming out of the woodwork, calling this move everything from “banana-republic scale BS” to “unusual” and possibly even “cheesy.” The nerve of some people!
But wait, there’s more! Some naysayers are asking if it’s even kosher for a governor to be doing commercials that line a business’s pockets. Well, before you go pointing fingers, the governor’s office isn’t exactly rushing to clear the air. They’re staying tight-lipped about the financial nitty-gritty, the decision to visit an out-of-state dentist, and the need to capture it all on camera.
All this hubbub couldn’t have come at a worse time for Gov. Noem, who’s been toying with the idea of sliding into the vice president’s seat if Trump gives her the nod. And wouldn’t you know it, she’s got some competition from other Republicans jockeying for the same spot. The plot thickens!
When the Washington Examiner tried to wrangle a response out of the folks at Smile Texas, they weren’t exactly chomping at the bit to spill the beans. Hmm, makes you wonder what they’ve got to hide, doesn’t it?
This whole shebang has certainly got people talking. Maybe it’s the miles between South Dakota and Texas or the top-dollar price tag on those fancy veneers, but either way, this tooth fairy tale isn’t over just yet!
