The mainstream media has once again failed miserably in their attempt to silence the truth. Matt Taibbi, a former contributing editor for Rolling Stone magazine who went independent, testified before the House Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government about the dangerous and unconstitutional censorship apparatus created by the political class, big tech, and intelligence community.

Taibbi has been calling out the liberal media’s serial failures, particularly regarding the Russian collusion hoax. Many progressives labeled him pro-Trump, which is complete nonsense. Taibbi is a committed liberal who stands for free speech and is wary of the censorship that is threatening our democracy.

Despite being pro-free speech, Taibbi was under attack by Democrats who accused him of peddling conspiracy theories targeted at their party, which is just not true. At one point during the hearing, Rep. Sylvia Garcia (D-Texas) appeared to accuse him of propagating “extreme MAGA Republican lies, misinformation, and outright conspiracy theories.” Taibbi hit back by asking how badgering a non-MAGA, non-Republican journalist to reveal his sources constituted fighting “Extreme MAGA Republican lies.”
Despite the opposition from the Democrats, Taibbi stood his ground and pointed out their lies. Rep. Stacey Plaskett (D-VIS), the ranking member of the subcommittee, claimed that nobody was interested in revealing journalists’ sources. However, Taibbi quickly pointed out Plaskett’s past quotes, which clearly show that Democrats demanded he reveal his sources.
It is yet another shameful day for the Democrats, caught lying yet again in their desperate attempt to suppress free speech and control the narrative. The mainstream media is pushing another false narrative about Taibbi being a pro-Trump journalist to undermine his credibility, but they will never silence the truth.
