In a shocking turn of events, Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and his posse of 11 House impeachment managers have fired off a strongly worded letter to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), announcing their plan to send over the articles of impeachment against Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas on April 10.

The letter, packed to the brim with scathing accusations, claims Mayorkas to be a serial law dodger and a trust betrayer, clearly urging Schumer to fast-track the trial. It doesn’t stop there, as they go on to remind Schumer of the Senate’s constitutional duty to hold the trial and to serve the American people by bringing Mayorkas to justice. And if that isn’t enough, they call out the Democratically-controlled Senate for even daring to consider brushing this under the rug.
You’ve got Republicans like Sens. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, unapologetically championing for the trial while Schumer plays the blame game, calling it all a sham and “a new low for House Republicans.” Classic Schumer, always trying to spin the narrative in his favor!
