Republican Senator Chuck Grassley of Iowa recently commented on the alleged collusion between Russia and former President Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign that cost the American people three years and millions of taxpayer dollars and termed the claims as baseless and politically motivated. Grassley also accused the FBI and the Department of Justice officials of aiding and abetting the Democratic National Committee and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton in pushing these unfounded claims.
For yrs Americans were bombarded w bogus Trump Russia rumors propped up by FBI/DOJ. Special Counsel Durham Rpt validates concerns I raised abt failures+political bias @ FBI Top brass trashed FBI credibility+integrity Shirking cong oversight/subpoenas=no way 2restore credibility!!

The recently released report by Special Counsel John Durham on the origins of the FBI investigation into the allegations of President Trump’s collusion with Russia finds that the FBI “did not and could not corroborate” the claims made in the discredited Steele Dossier.
Grassley said that Durham’s report supports the concerns he has raised since the fake investigation was exposed in 2017, and revealed that the FBI “allowed itself to be hijacked and weaponized by political actors to target a political rival during a presidential election and administration”. Grassley further pointed out that the FBI abused the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) to obtain warrants based on the dossier’s false claims, which was funded by Clinton’s campaign and the Democratic National Committee.
Grassley outlined a way for the FBI to restore its credibility, suggesting that the agency should cooperate with his and Republican Rep. James Comer from Kentucky’s investigation into a document detailing allegations surrounding criminal activities involving a foreign national and then-Vice President Biden. He urged the FBI to work with the congressional subpoena about its handling of the sensitive matter that involved the former Vice President, stating that the FBI should show its work to the American people as they had relied on unverified claims to target a Republican president relentlessly.
Following the House Oversight Committee’s issuance of a subpoena to FBI Director Christopher Wray for FD-1023 forms created in June 2020 that mention Biden, the agency failed to provide the committee with the document, which raises more questions about the FBI’s willingness to be transparent.
Grassley concludes by saying that the FBI’s integrity, if ever restored, would come with humility, transparency, and accountability. In conclusion, Senator Grassley’s call to restore and maintain the credibility of the FBI is a much-needed response to the dirty smear campaigning that has plagued politics in recent years.
