Former aides from Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2020 presidential campaign are causing quite the stir. These disgruntled former staffers are accusing Harris of being too pro-Israel and are demanding that she “seek an immediate ceasefire” between Israel and Hamas, according to Politico. It seems like these aides are not happy with the Biden administration’s support of Israel, so they’re trying to rally against it.
In response to Hamas’ recent terrorist attack on Israel, the Biden administration has made it clear where it stands. They are fully behind Israel and have pledged to provide whatever aid the country needs during this war. But apparently, that’s not enough for these former campaign aides. They’ve gone so far as to call Israel’s effort against Hamas a “genocide.” Talk about exaggeration!
The draft letter from these disgruntled aides supposedly reads, “We must mourn the tragic loss of Israeli life targeted by Hamas. However, we must firmly and unequivocally reject the Israeli government’s exploitation of these deaths to stage a retaliatory and genocidal campaign against civilians.” Wow, way to stir the pot! It’s clear that these aides have an agenda and are trying to create a divide.

Not only has President Biden shown his unwavering support for Israel, but he has also demonstrated it through action. He made a trip to Israel to solidify this commitment and even gave a rare Oval Office address where he announced an aid package for both Israel and Ukraine. That’s a lot more than just empty words of support.
It’s not just these former aides causing a ruckus. Some Democrats are also questioning the White House’s support of Israel. They’re worried that the administration has aligned itself too closely with the country and will be held accountable for its actions. Some young Democrats have even threatened to withhold their vote from Biden in 2024 because they feel he hasn’t shown enough support for Palestinian civilians.
But hold on a minute… Shouldn’t the focus be on stopping the terrorist organization Hamas and promoting peace in the region? It seems like these former aides and disgruntled Democrats are more interested in causing division and making political statements than actually working towards a solution. Perhaps they should take their own advice and run for office if they want to make a real impact.
It’s easy to criticize from the sidelines, but it takes true leadership to make tough decisions and stand by them. President Biden has made his stance clear, and it’s in support of Israel. It’s time for everyone to put aside their personal agendas and work towards a peaceful resolution.
