LOL: Top Dems SKIP Biden Speech, Go To Concert Instead

President Joe Biden spoke at the House Democratic Caucus Issues Conference in Baltimore yesterday. Although most of the Democratic caucus attended, a group of House Democrats chose to skip the speech and attend a Joni Mitchell concert at D.A.R. Concert Hall instead. The absentees included Reps. Maxwell Frost (D-FL), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Dan Kildee (D-MI), Mark Takano (D-CA), Katie Porter (D-CA), Andy Kim (D-NJ), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), Hillary Scholten (D-MI), Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), and Greg Casar (D-TX). Additionally, several Senate Democrats, such as U.S. Sens. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Patty Murray (D-WA), and Jack Reed (D-RI), also attended the concert. Even House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) was present at the event.

The decision of the House Democrats to attend a Joni Mitchell concert instead of President Joe Biden’s speech is worrisome for the Democratic Party’s future. Biden’s speech addressed various issues, with the main aim of promoting his administration’s accomplishments. Nonetheless, Biden received a lot of backlash for a moment during the speech when he laughed while recounting a woman’s tragic story of losing her two sons to fentanyl poisoning. The White House has attempted to address the situation, but this incident brings into question the Democratic Party’s dedication to Biden’s 2024 campaign.

The House Democrats’ choice to opt for a Joni Mitchell concert instead of President Biden’s speech reflects a broader issue within the Democratic Party – a lack of dedication to Biden’s policies and leadership. This may be an indication of future events for the 2024 election, with a large number of Democrats opposing or neglecting to participate in Biden’s campaign. This could be detrimental to the Democratic Party, resulting in a divided party and an incapacity to unite behind a single candidate.

The Democrats’ decision to prioritize a concert over Biden’s speech is disconcerting since it implies that they are not entirely devoted to his leadership and policies. This could imply that the Democratic Party is not in sync and may encounter difficulties in the forthcoming election. It is crucial for the Democratic Party to unite and demonstrate their endorsement for Biden if they hope to succeed in 2024.
