Marco Rubio Requests Buttigieg’s Resignation!

Senator Marco Rubio is calling for the resignation of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg due to his mishandling of several transportation crises. Rubio wrote a letter to President Joe Biden, citing Buttigieg’s “gross level of incompetence and apathy that is detrimental to the safety and prosperity of the American people.”

The Florida Republican highlighted Buttigieg’s delayed response to the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, which forced residents to evacuate the town as deadly chemicals were released into the environment. This incident occurred on February 3rd, yet Buttigieg did not respond until 10 days later.

Rubio also pointed out Buttigieg’s lack of oversight when a Federal Aviation Administration glitch temporarily grounded flights in January and Southwest canceled 2,500 flights around Christmas. Additionally, Buttigieg was criticized for taking an extended parental leave during supply chain shortages and vacationing while railway workers were threatening to strike for better contract terms.

The Senator’s letter to President Biden stated that it is “painfully clear to the American people that Secretary Buttigieg has little regard for the duties of the Secretary of Transportation.” Rubio believes that Buttigieg’s incompetence and apathy are detrimental to the safety and prosperity of the American people, and he is therefore requesting that Buttigieg resign from his position.

As Transportation Secretary, Buttigieg has been responsible for overseeing a variety of transportation crises, yet his response has been inadequate and delayed. His lack of oversight has caused many Americans to question his commitment to the duties of his position. Senator Marco Rubio is now demanding that Buttigieg resign due to his gross incompetence and apathy towards transportation crises.
