That’s sensible: you don’t bargain with guns pointed at your allies and bases; you bargain from strength, then trade carrots for concrete security guarantees.
Real people feel the fallout
Talk of airstrikes and counterstrikes isn’t abstract for the folks paying the bills. Gas pump prices wobble, shipping routes get risk premiums slapped on, and the supply chains that feed factories and grocery stores start to creak.
