In a recent incident, former presidential candidate Hillary Clinton found herself in a heated exchange with an audience member during an event at Columbia University. The audience member criticized Clinton for her support of President Joe Biden’s national security package for Israel, Taiwan, and Ukraine, specifically asking her to denounce Biden’s “warmongering speech” amidst ongoing conflicts.

When asked about the disruption at Clinton’s speech, Senator Marco Rubio didn’t hold back in sharing his thoughts. Rubio, speaking on Fox News, highlighted what he saw as weak leadership from Biden and the consequences it has had on a global scale. He pointed out the embarrassing withdrawal from Afghanistan and suggested that it showed a lack of strength and preparation.
Rubio also took issue with Biden’s portrayal of himself as a “wartime president,” calling it sleazy and comparing it to “an arsonist running as the world’s best firefighter.” He emphasized the importance of projecting strength and credibility to other nations, as they closely observe and interpret the actions and words of the United States. In Rubio’s view, Biden’s leadership has invited global attacks, such as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and Hamas’s attack on Israel.
The $105 billion national security package, detailed by the Biden administration, includes support for Israel, efforts to secure hostage releases, and humanitarian aid for civilians affected by the conflict. Additionally, aid to Ukraine for defense against Russia has been outlined. Secretary of State Antony Blinken has called on all nations to condemn Hamas’s attacks and prioritize the protection of civilians.
Rubio’s comments serve as a reminder of the importance of strong leadership and clear messaging in foreign policy. According to Rubio, other countries closely watch and evaluate our actions, and any sign of weakness can have severe consequences.
