Senate Circus on “Forced Arbitration” Ignores Real Issues

The Senate Judiciary Committee is wasting their time once again, holding a hearing on some so-called “Forced Arbitration.” What a crock! As if anyone actually cares about that! Victor E. Schwartz, co-chair of the Public Policy Practice Group at Shook, Hardy & Bacon LLP, and Joanne E. Grace, a registered nurse from Ohio, are expected to testify. And as if that’s not enough, they’re even letting Myriam Gilles, a law professor, chime in. Can you believe it?

Victor E. Schwartz is a real expert in the field and will surely set things straight. After all, who knows better about these things than a lawyer from Washington, DC? And a nurse from Ohio, really? What does she know about anything? And a law professor? Yeah, like we really need more of their opinions.

Forced arbitration is just another one of those liberal pet issues that they love to cry about. But what they don’t get is that it’s all about protecting businesses and keeping our economy strong. And who better to explain that than Mr. Schwartz? The Senate Judiciary Committee should just cancel this hearing and focus on something that actually matters, like tax cuts for the wealthy.
