Soros-Backed DA Lets Overdoses Run Rampant in Milwaukee County

Milwaukee County in Wisconsin faced a catastrophic tragedy in the span of three days, as 17 people have succumbed to overdoses, making authorities raise awareness about the risk of the “bad batch,” CBS 58 has reported. This outbreak is just one of the many that have dented the nation as there was a 16% increase in overdose deaths from 2020 to 2021, with 106,699 overdose deaths registered across the country in 2021. The overdose crisis has prompted the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to approve over-the-counter Narcan that helps reduce death rates resulting from overdoses, according to FDA Commissioner Robert M. Califf, M.D.

Though to some officials, this crisis is alternatively presented as a drug safety issue, others like John Chisholm, Milwaukee’s district attorney, believe that deferred prosecutions could have prevented such incidents. These prosecutions usually divert offenders from the criminal justice system into rehabilitative programs. But one family alleges that their granddaughter would have been alive if her drug dealer had remained in jail.

“George Soros, the billionaire behind Open Society Network…donated $21,000 to Chisholm’s campaign in 2016,” according to documents retrieved from the Federal Election Committee. Soros has funded several progressive district attorneys across the country. Milwaukee County, the Department of Health and Human Services or the DA have yet to comment on the latest Baltimore, Maryland crisis.

It is quite appalling that the future of Milwaukee County is left in the hands of a DA who was funded by George Soros. Soros has put his money where his mouth is and has been pushing progressive policies and candidates across the nation. Unfortunately, his efforts have often proven to be destructive to communities, and Milwaukee appears to be no exception. Deferred prosecutions are being linked to deadly overdoses in the area, and the DA seems to be unbothered. Instead, he continues to persecute people under the cover of progressive privileges even as the situation spirals out of control. What is happening in Milwaukee County is tragic, and it is a brutal reminder of why citizens’ decisions about who runs their government matter. We hope that this ignorance stops before more lives are lost.
