Supreme Court to Decide on Trump Immunity Amid Legal Drama

The Supreme Court – the highest court in all the land – is about to weigh in on the case of whether Donald Trump, the 45th President of the United States, is immune from legal proceedings. And let’s just say, it’s a big deal. Trump’s got his feathers all ruffled over an article shared on Truth Social (you know, that place he set up after he got booted from other social media platforms). The article he shared questions whether this guy named Jack Smith, who’s supposed to be a special counsel, even has the right to defend a ruling made by the D.C. Circuit.

This guy, Steven Calabresi, wrote the article that’s got Trump’s attention. He’s going off about how Smith shouldn’t be allowed to do anything because he got his fancy title without the big shots in Congress giving their approval. Calabresi’s like, “Hey, this Smith dude is just a regular Joe Schmo off the street, so why should he have any say in the big legal stuff involving Trump?” He’s saying that everything Smith has done since November 18, 2022, is basically worthless, especially when it comes to the Florida classified documents case and the charges against Trump over that riot on January 6, 2021.

Oh, and get this, Calabresi even says that Smith could end up getting sued for stepping over his bounds – like, seriously? Can you imagine that? The guy just doing his job and now he might have to deal with lawsuits? What a world.

But here’s the kicker: Calabresi’s really laying into the Attorney General, Merrick Garland, saying he had no right appointing Smith without Congress giving the go-ahead. It’s like a game of hot potato – everyone’s passing the blame around! Calabresi’s also bringing up the Senate, saying they’re the ones who should get to pick a special counsel and not the Attorney General. He’s even comparing this whole mess to another case involving Hunter Biden – like, what does that guy have to do with anything?

Anyways, it sounds like this case is going to be a real barn-burner. And all because some fella named Smith got himself mixed up in the whole shebang. Only time will tell what the bigwigs over at the Supreme Court have to say about it all.
