Texas refuses to back down in its mission to secure its borders, despite a disappointing ruling from the Supreme Court. In a 5-4 decision, the court sided with the federal government, giving them the right to remove physical barriers put up by the Texas National Guard. It’s disheartening to see supposedly conservative justices like Roberts and Barrett siding with the Biden administration, but thankfully, Justices Thomas, Alito, Kavanaugh, and Gorsuch stood against this encroachment on state sovereignty.
But Governor Greg Abbott and Attorney General Ken Paxton won’t let this setback deter them. They understand the importance of securing the southern border and protecting their state from the influx of illegal immigration. The Biden administration’s reckless actions of cutting wire barriers have opened the floodgates for illegal immigrants, putting the safety of Texas National Guard soldiers and DPS troopers at risk. Governor Abbott and General Paxton are committed to defending Texas’ property and its constitutional authority to secure the border.

General Paxton rightly points out that the fight is not over against the Biden administration’s refusal to address the millions of people entering the country illegally each year. The Supreme Court’s temporary order has only allowed Biden to continue aiding this foreign invasion. Removing Texas’ border barriers does nothing to enforce the law or keep American citizens safe. Thankfully, General Paxton is ready to defend our state’s sovereignty and stand up for the safety of its residents.
This legal battle began when Governor Abbott declared a state of emergency over the ongoing illegal immigration crisis, allowing the mobilization of the Texas National Guard. The placement of concertina wire and buoys was crucial in securing the border. However, Border Patrol agents shamefully tore down parts of the wire barrier, vandalizing state property and interfering with Texas’ law enforcement efforts. Texas sued the Department of Homeland Security, and rightly so, as their actions left gaps in border barriers and hindered Texas’ ability to deter illegal entry.
The staggering numbers don’t lie. Since Biden took office in January 2021, a shocking 3.8 million illegal immigrants have been admitted into the country. Almost half of them have evaded detection and have yet to be apprehended. This is not just a problem; it’s a crisis, and Texas understands the urgency of the situation. Governor Abbott and General Paxton should be commended for their commitment to protecting their state and upholding the rule of law.
It’s clear that the Biden administration is failing in its duty to secure our borders, and it’s up to states like Texas to step up and take action. We need strong leaders who will prioritize the safety and well-being of American citizens over political optics. Governor Abbott and General Paxton are fighting for what’s right, despite facing opposition from the Supreme Court and the federal government. Let’s stand with them and support their efforts to secure our borders and protect our great state of Texas.
