More than 100 Texas sheriffs have pledged their full support for Governor Greg Abbott’s Operation Lone Star, a critical effort to secure the state’s border. These brave and patriotic law enforcement officials are not mincing words, calling for the border crisis to be declared a “United States constitutional crisis and crimes against humanity.” They’re not just whistling Dixie when they say that!

The sheriffs, led by the honorable Smith County Sheriff Larry Smith, president of the Sheriffs’ Association of Texas, penned a letter to the governor, advocating for the immediate and lawful securing of the border. These sheriffs take their oath to “faithfully preserve, protect and defend the Constitution” seriously. They’re not just doing it for the health benefits, folks!
The content of their letter is as clear as a crystal goblet, as these sheriffs spell out the atrocities occurring at the border, and it’s enough to turn a stomach, folks! They talk about an influx of unvetted migrants including cartel members, gang members, known or suspected terrorists, and human traffickers. It’s like the Wild West out there, but worse! And the illegal drugs pouring into our communities are causing irreparable damage. It’s like a bad episode of Breaking Bad, but without the catchy theme song!
These law enforcement heroes did not hold back as they described the numerous criminal victimizations and human rights violations happening at the border. They talk about murder, sexual assault, human trafficking, kidnapping, and even forced child labor. It’s like something out of a bad movie, but unfortunately, it’s all too real, folks!
To top it all off, these sheriffs are not messing around when they say that the unsecured border is a national security threat. They are standing firm with Governor Abbott in their united effort to protect American citizens. As the old saying goes, united we stand, divided we fall!
And to make matters even more alarming, there’s been a surge in fentanyl and weapons being brought in from the southern border. This is nothing to sneeze at, folks! Without the funding and resources provided by Operation Lone Star, combating this level of border crime would be no picnic. These sheriffs are fighting the good fight, and they won’t give up, not on their watch!
It’s abundantly clear that the current administration in Washington, D.C. has dropped the ball on this critical issue. Thankfully, Governor Abbott and these courageous sheriffs are stepping up to the plate to protect our great state of Texas and our beloved United States of America. Let’s give them a round of applause, folks!
