John Lausch, the US Attorney for the Northern Ill. District, was tasked with investigating how the documents were acquired and stored at the think tank that was associated with Biden. Maddow has criticized Trump for his handling of classified information throughout her program.
The investigation regarding the missing classified documents has been handled by special counsel Jack Smith. According to reports, the Justice Department is looking into whether Trump obstructed justice. Trump has maintained that he did not break the law when he revealed the information.
