The Biden administration is being accused of ignoring a federal judge's ruling, which is seen as an attempt to circumvent the law under pressure from the radical left. The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, criticized Democratic New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's demand that the administration disregard the ruling on an abortion pill, stating that it sets a "dangerous precedent." Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk of Texas issued a preliminary injunction that halted the FDA's approval of the abortion pill known as mifepristone.

Democratic New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who is viewed as being part of the radical far-left, has been advocating for the Biden administration to overlook the court's decision, a move that could put the credibility of the judiciary at risk. "The Biden administration must dismiss this ruling," said Ocasio-Cortez. "What they are doing is causing an unparalleled and significant decline in the credibility of the courts."
Jean-Pierre responded by saying that undermining a judicial ruling sets a “dangerous precedent,” but the administration would challenge the decision. “It is dangerous to use it as an example. When a court goes against the FDA's expert opinion about the safety and effectiveness of a drug, it sets a dangerous precedent. It would also set an unsafe precedent for the administration to ignore a binding decision.” She continued, “We completely understand how frustrating this decision is, which is why we moved quickly. Because of this, you saw the Department of Justice (DOJ) act… We agree with the FDA's decision to let mifepristone be used, and we're ready for a long legal battle. That's our promise to the women out there, and that's our promise to everyone in the United States.”
Republican South Carolina Representative Nancy Mace echoed and endorsed Ocasio-Cortez's request for the FDA to disregard the court's decision. Mace claimed that the judiciary should not intervene in the FDA's determination of a drug's safety and efficacy.
The progressive far-left appears to be promoting its extreme program by urging the Biden administration to flout the law and disregard a court ruling. It is comforting to see conservatives like Rep. Mace opposing this and supporting the rule of law. The Biden administration must adhere to the court's decision and avoid setting another hazardous precedent.
