CA Defiant as Trump Stays on Ballot, Dems’ Outrage Ignored

The California Secretary of State Shirley Weber isn’t giving in to the liberal pressure to kick former President Donald Trump off the state’s presidential primary ballot. On March 5, 2024, California will host its primary, and Trump’s name will be proudly displayed among the nine Republicans vying for the GOP nomination in the Golden State.

Despite the whining and moaning from Democrats who insist that Trump is ineligible to run for office due to alleged 14th Amendment violations, Weber stood firm in her decision. California Lt. Gov. Eleni Kounalakis tried to strong-arm Weber into removing Trump from the ballot, citing a Colorado Supreme Court ruling that did just that. Kounalakis accused Trump of committing acts of insurrection but got shut down when Weber reiterated that any decision she makes must abide by California laws and processes.

But that’s not all that’s been causing a ruckus in California politics. Republican Assemblyman Vince Fong had a bit of a tiff trying to secure a spot on the ballot. He initially got rejected because he had already filed for reelection to the state assembly. However, Fong didn’t take no for an answer and filed a lawsuit. Lo and behold, a Sacramento County Superior Court judge ruled in his favor, and now Fong’s name will be on the ballot.

Meanwhile, in Maine, Secretary of State Shenna Bellows ruled that Trump was ineligible to be president and booted him off the state’s primary ballot. The Trump campaign didn’t take too kindly to that and plans to appeal the decision. Over in Colorado, the GOP has already appealed a similar decision to the U.S. Supreme Court. Looks like the battle for Trump’s spot on the ballot is just heating up across the nation!
