A newly elected Republican congressman from Wisconsin recently proclaimed that leftists cannot be Christians.
According to Derrick Van Orden, a Trump-supporting former Navy SEAL who just won his election, there are many Christians who are Democrats, but not a single God-fearing Christian who is a leftist. He was photographed near the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, after rioters broke through the building.
Van Orden just defeated Democrat Brad Pfaff for the open 3rd Congressional district in Wisconsin. He made the comments at a Sparta prayer breakfast in the final days of his campaign.
In an audio recording, which was obtained by the La Crosse Tribune, Van Orden stated that the country was founded on Judeo-Christian values and he things it is time that the country returns to them.
In response to the Tribune, Van Orden stated that he was referring to communism, which he said has destroyed all morality and religion. However, he referred to another individual, who is only a member of the Democratic Party, as a radical leftist.
As a practicing Lutheran, Pfaff said he was outraged at the comments by Van Orden.
During the breakfast, Van Orden revealed that he is a member of a church known as the Bible Baptist Church, which has a statement of faith that states that incest, homosexuality, and bestiality are sinful perversions. It also says that women should not be allowed to lead positions, and Christians should not be allowed to sue one another.
