Trump to Undergo Virtual Probation Interview Amid NY Trial

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is set to participate in a virtual interview with a probation official as part of the court process leading up to his sentencing in a New York hush money trial. The interview, scheduled for Monday, will occur over a secure virtual network and will involve a female probation official. Trump will be accompanied by his attorney, Todd Blanche, at his Mar-a-Lago estate during the interview.

The interview is standard procedure following a conviction, as was the case late last month when Trump was convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records. His defense team is expected to submit their sentencing recommendation on June 13, with the sentencing date on July 11, just four days before the Republican National Convention.

The Trump campaign has criticized President Joe Biden and Democrats, describing Trump’s court situation as a “witch hunt” and asserting his innocence. They have accused Biden and his allies of interfering in the presidential election and misusing their power to target Trump.

Biden has stated his separation from Trump’s New York hush-money case, which was initiated by the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. Trump also faces three other criminal court cases in federal court, but none of them are anticipated to go to court before the November presidential election.

In response to the ongoing legal challenges, a spokesperson for the Trump campaign, Steven Cheung, expressed their intent to challenge and overcome the “lawless Manhattan DA case.” They have highlighted their confidence in Trump’s innocence and have pledged to hold Biden and his allies accountable in the upcoming election.
