In recent days, former President Donald J. Trump has seen an outpouring of support from many Republicans who have come to his defense over the last few days after his impending indictment was announced last Friday. One of his most vocal defenders has been political commentator Ben Shapiro, who graduated cum laude from Harvard Law School in 2007. Shapiro has argued that the case is “legally dubious” and that it is nothing more than a “witch hunt” launched by the Left to smear Trump.

Shapiro went on Twitter to attack the witch hunt launched by the Left and said, “This weekend, Trump announced he expected to be criminally indicted this week. An indictment on the basis of the Stormy Daniels payoff would be absurd, of course. It’s legally dubious, as everyone including the NYT understands. But it does provide the Left with wish fulfillment: a mugshot of the man they’ve wanted arrested since the day he declared for the 2016 GOP nomination.”

In political terms, it helps Trump – certainly Republicans will rally around him. But it also helps divide the country once more as Democrats declare that Trump is so dangerous he should be arrested even on flimsy charges, justifying the accusations that the system is rigged.

Shapiro has not always been a defender of Trump, and on multiple occasions been critical of the former president. However, his defense of Trump’s potential indictment really shows how much of a reach this case really is. It appears to be nothing more than a political attention grab from the Democrats to smear Trump once again and divide the country even further.
Elon Musk has also weighed in on the matter, claiming that if Trump is indicted, he will be re-elected in a landslide victory. Chris Rock also commented on the situation, claiming that any unlawful arrest would only make Trump’s case stronger and garner more support for his 2024 presidential campaign.
It’s clear that many Republicans are standing behind Donald Trump as he faces this potential indictment. It’s obvious that this case is nothing more than a politically motivated witch hunt from the Democrats to smear Trump and divide the country even further. This is yet another example of how Democrats are willing to go to any lengths to try and take down President Trump, even if it means using legally dubious tactics.
It’s time for Republicans to stand up and fight back against these politically motivated attacks on our former president. We must make it clear that we will not stand for this kind of behavior and will continue to fight for what is right and just. It’s time for us to stand together and show our support for Donald Trump and all of those who have been unfairly targeted by the Left.
