The World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) seems to have vanished their latest guidelines on transgender medical practices from their website faster than a liberal fleeing from a conservative debate. The Standards of Care Version 8 (SOC 8) that were released on September 15, 2022, caused quite a stir in the conservative community by downplaying the seriousness of gender dysphoria and endorsing hormone therapy for minors as young as 16 without prior mental health screenings. It’s like they want to throw caution to the wind and mix up a gender identity potion without checking the ingredients first!
Well, well, well, look who decided to hit the delete button on their progressive propaganda! It’s no surprise that WPATH removed the socially controversial SOC 8 from their website quicker than you can say “individual responsibility.” It’s almost as if they realized that pushing politically correct agendas shouldn’t be their top priority when it comes to medical guidelines.
Marci Bowers, the former president of WPATH, has been quite the vocal advocate for the new guidelines, claiming they are the most revolutionary thing since sliced bread. But let’s face it, just because something is new doesn’t mean it’s good – just look at the New Coke fiasco! Transitioning children aged three? Parents being labeled as mentally ill for not affirming gender dysphoria? Sounds like a recipe for disaster rather than a solution.
With Dr. Ving Tangpricha now at the helm, one can only hope that WPATH will steer their ship away from the treacherous waters of woke medicine and back towards the shores of common sense. It’s high time that medical professionals focus on providing quality care based on sound science and ethical principles, rather than bowing down to the latest fads and activist agendas. Let’s hope that WPATH’s next move is to restore sanity and responsibility to their guidelines, rather than continuing down the slippery slope of progressive extremism.
