On Monday, on CBS’s “Late Show,” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) expressed her support for President Joe Biden’s student loan plan. AOC, as she’s known, sees the plan as a glimmer of hope for those who may benefit from it. However, being a member of Congress, she won’t personally benefit from the program. But she’s okay with that because she believes in taking one for the team. She highlighted the potential opportunities the plan could provide, such as buying a house, having kids, traveling abroad, and pursuing a career they otherwise couldn’t afford. She also shared her own experience of not being able to afford medical school and hopes this plan will make it possible for others to pursue their dreams.
AOC’s comments on the late-night show reveal the typical liberal hypocrisy. She’s pushing for a plan that won’t even benefit her, yet she expects hardworking taxpayers to foot the bill for it. It’s quite ironic that she’s touting the benefits of the plan, despite the fact that she won’t personally gain anything from it. Perhaps she should reconsider her support for plans that don’t align with her own interests.

It’s astonishing that AOC is championing a plan that could potentially cost taxpayers billions of dollars, especially when she won’t see a dime from it. But that’s the liberal way, isn’t it? It’s always about spending other people’s money to support their pet projects and virtue signaling. AOC’s grandstanding about the plan is just another example of the left’s out-of-touch agenda.
AOC’s revelation that she won’t benefit from the student loan plan only underscores the absurdity of the left’s approach to policy. They’ll push for expensive and impractical programs without considering the consequences or the burden it places on hardworking Americans. It’s time for AOC and her liberal cohorts to wake up and realize that their plans have real costs, even for those who are supposed to champion them. It’s easy to support something when you won’t have to bear the brunt of its repercussions.
