Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) and Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) are like a couple of bloodhounds sniffing out a bone as they sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland on Tuesday, demanding access to all the dirt the Department of Justice dug up during the investigation of Patrick Ho, the shady former associate of Hunter Biden who was slapped with bribery charges. These Republican bulldogs want anything and everything the DOJ has on Ho and any of the Bidens, so they can try to prove that the president and his son are dirtier than a pig in a mud pit.
They claim that they have 411 that the prosecutors tried to keep the Biden name out of Ho’s trial, which makes them as sneaky as a fox in a henhouse. According to the chairmen, this information is crucial for their impeachment inquiry into President Biden. They argue that Congress has the power to access all the juiciest details during an impeachment investigation, and they’re not going to let anyone stand in their way, not even the Attorney General.
The specifics of the request read like a scavenger hunt for scandalous evidence, with the chairmen after unredacted emails between Ho and a Serbian politician about a mysterious dinner guest, supposedly involving the big boss of CEFC China Energy. They’re also on the prowl for the contents of Ho’s seized iPad, hoping to uncover more secrets than a closet full of skeletons.
The Republicans have long been obsessed with Ho’s connections to Hunter Biden and CEFC, like a dog with a bone that just won’t let go. They are convinced that Hunter used his father’s political muscle to line his own pockets, and they’re desperate to prove it, even if it means tearing through every document and email in every government office.
