Jimmy Kimmel, the host of the Hollywood elite’s annual self-congratulatory extravaganza, took time away from patting himself on the back to poke fun at Sen. Katie Britt’s (R-AL) State of the Union rebuttal. The response to Sen. Britt’s rebuttal has been less than favorable, to say the least. So Kimmel, in his infinite wisdom, decided to compare her performance to that of actress Emma Stone in the award-winning film, Poor Things.
Kimmel couldn’t resist the urge to serve up a snarky quip, muscling in on the highly-esteemed stage to ridicule Britt’s rebuttal. He chuckled about Emma Stone’s character in Poor Things having the brain of a child, drawing a scathing parallel to the esteemed senator’s rebuttal. Yikes, Sen. Britt – you’ve really made it when Hollywood’s golden boy takes a jab at you!
And let’s be real, folks. Sen. Britt’s rebuttal has received more flak than a flying target at a skeet shooting competition. She’s been facing backlash for her delivery and the content she shared, particularly a story about meeting a sex trafficking victim – a story that, some eagle-eyed observers claim, didn’t even happen during Biden’s presidency. Ouch, Senator! Looks like your fact-checking skills could use a little tune-up.
But in typical GOP fashion, Sen. Britt isn’t letting the haters get her down. She’s stood her ground, defending her story as a vital piece of the puzzle in the ongoing drama that is the southern border. You tell ’em, Senator! Don’t let those Hollywood liberals get you rattled.
Among the chorus of critics was none other than former Fox News anchor turned podcast host, Megyn Kelly, who described Sen. Britt’s rebuttal as “total cringe.” And we all know that if there’s anyone who’s an expert in cringe, it’s Megyn Kelly. Even Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) got in on the action, making jokes at Sen. Britt’s expense. What’s new, right?
But just when you thought the fun was over, Kimmel hit back at the former president himself. In an epic twist of irony, he read aloud a social media post from the one and only Donald J. Trump – you know, the guy who rocked America to its core and had the audacity to question if there had been “a WORSE HOST than Jimmy Kimmel at The Oscars.”
Kimmel didn’t miss a beat, firing back and jokingly questioning if Trump’s “jail time” had finally caught up with him. Oh, snap! Nothing like a good ol’ Hollywood roast to wrap up a night of self-congratulations and virtue signaling.
In the end, it’s no surprise that Hollywood’s favorite mouthpiece turned the glamorous Oscars into a platform for taking swipes at anyone who doesn’t toe the line of liberal narrative. But hey, that’s showbiz, folks!
