The House Judiciary Committee has taken a bold step in launching an inquiry into the arrest of journalist Steve Baker, who was charged with misdemeanors related to the events of January 6, 2021. Baker, a journalist for the Blaze Media outlet, has been vocal in his coverage of the J6 trials, which has clearly ruffled some feathers within the Department of Justice. It’s no surprise that a journalist who dares to question the mainstream narrative would face such repercussions.
House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan deserves applause for standing up for Baker’s rights and raising concerns about the selective prosecution by the DOJ. It’s appalling that while some journalists seem to receive accolades for their reporting, others like Baker are subjected to aggressive arrests and charged with crimes. This blatant double standard is a clear example of the deep-rooted bias within our justice system.
