Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is taking a stand for justice in the wake of a horrific assault involving a 15-year-old black St. Louis female violently attacking a white student. This despicable act left the victim in critical condition, fighting for their life in the hospital. It’s a tragedy that such violence has invaded our schools, tarnishing the innocence of our children.

Bailey’s call for the attacker to be charged as an adult is a step in the right direction. It’s time to hold individuals accountable for their heinous actions, regardless of their age. The safety of our communities and the well-being of our children must always come first. We cannot let political correctness or leniency cloud the pursuit of justice in cases as clear-cut as this.
The school’s response to the incident, offering condolences and emotional support, is a necessary gesture in times of crisis. However, the focus must also be on addressing the root causes of such violent behavior. Bullying and fighting cannot be tolerated, and it is the responsibility of educators and parents to instill values of respect and compassion in our youth.
The allegations of past violence and the apparent cover-ups within the Hazelwood School District are deeply concerning. The district’s emphasis on so-called “diversity, equity, and inclusion” programs, while commendable on the surface, must not overshadow the need for accountability and discipline. True equity means holding all individuals to the same standard of behavior, regardless of race or background.
As we pray for the victim’s recovery and justice to prevail, let us also reflect on the importance of upholding law and order in our communities. It’s time to stand firm against violence and chaos, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all law-abiding citizens. Let this incident serve as a wake-up call for us to prioritize the values of respect, responsibility, and righteousness in our society.
