Biden Approval Hits Historic Low, Trails Behind Trump and Obama

In a recent poll, it was revealed that President Joe Biden is facing a significant level of disapproval from the American people, the likes of which have not been seen in over 70 years. This information comes courtesy of Gallup, a well-known polling organization.

Compared to previous presidents from Dwight Eisenhower onward, Biden’s approval rating at 38.7 percent during his 13th quarter in office falls far below his predecessors. Even during tumultuous times, former President Donald Trump had a higher job approval rating at 46.8 percent after 13 quarters, and former President Barack Obama was at 45.9 percent. Former President Jimmy Carter also received a higher approval rating at 47.7 percent during his time in office.

Biden’s quarterly average places him in the bottom 12 percent of all presidential approval ratings dating back to 1945, ranking 277th out of 314 quarters rated by Gallup. This indicates that Biden is facing a lack of support from the American public during his time in office.

Gallup’s review of Biden’s numbers highlights that his approval fell below 50 percent after two quarters and has remained around 40 percent for the majority of his time in office. Additionally, the polling organization noted that only 2 percent of Republicans and 33 percent of independents approve of Biden’s performance.

As the 2024 election approaches, Biden faces the challenge of earning positive momentum to improve his chances of being reelected. However, according to Gallup, Americans have not become more positive about Biden’s job performance in the past three months, putting him in a weaker position than any prior incumbent president.

Additional polls from Pew Research also indicate that Biden is facing strong disapproval, with only 19 percent of respondents strongly approving of his performance and 62 percent disapproving.

The lack of approval for Biden has created an opportunity for former President Donald Trump, as current polling suggests that he is leading Biden in seven swing states crucial to winning the presidential election.

This growing dissatisfaction with President Biden’s performance has significant implications for the upcoming election and the future of the country. It is clear that Biden will need to make significant changes if he hopes to gain the support of the American people and improve his chances of being reelected.

In the months leading up to the election, it will be important to pay attention to how President Biden responds to this dissatisfaction and whether he is able to gain the positive momentum needed to strengthen his position.
