Fox News Stands Tall: Cable News King for 8 Years Running!

In 2023, the cable news game saw some major changes, folks! And guess who’s still sitting pretty at the top? You guessed it, none other than the powerhouse of truth, justice, and conservative values – Fox News! For eight straight years, they’ve been the reigning champion of cable news, and ain’t nobody dethroning them anytime soon.

Now, sure, Fox News might have seen a little dip in their viewership, but don’t go counting them out just yet. Even with their lowest average audience since 2015, they still pulled in 1.2 million faithful viewers, according to those Nielsen folks.

One reason for their drop might just be the departure of the mega-star Tucker Carlson, who hopped over to Elon Musk’s new platform, X, formerly known as Twitter. But hey, that’s Tucker’s loss, not Fox News’. And let’s not forget the army of loyal Fox News viewers who switched over to Newsmax at the start of Trump’s next presidential run.

While MSNBC might have seen a little uptick in their viewership, it’s probably because they can’t stop talking about their favorite topic: Trump’s legal troubles. And with left-wing favorites like Rachel Maddow leading the charge, it’s no wonder they managed to rope in 792,000 viewers on average.

As for CNN, well, they might’ve hit rock bottom with their lowest performance since 2014. Clocking in at an average of 481,000 viewers, they even set a record low in the 25-54 age group. Ouch! But hey, at least they still managed to stay ahead of MSNBC in those prime time and total day viewerships.

The whole cable news circus is taking a hit because more and more people are cutting the cord and getting their fix from streaming services. Fox News is adapting with their own streaming service, Fox Nation, while even CNN is scrambling to find their footing in this new streaming era.
