In a recent appearance on This Week, Gov. Brian Kemp (R-GA) gave some solid advice to his fellow Republicans. He encouraged them to sit back and let the election process unfold, rather than jumping the gun and causing more chaos within the party. A few peeps in the Republican Party have been urging 2024 presidential candidate Nikki Haley to hit the brakes on her campaign, especially after she took some losses against former President Donald Trump. Haley stumbled against Trump in the New Hampshire primary, the Iowa caucuses, and even ended up losing to the “none of these candidates” label in the Nevada primary. Yikes!
Kemp, who isn’t exactly besties with Trump and his “election was stolen” claims, threw some serious shade at the idea of shutting down the primary race. He thinks both Trump and Haley should keep on truckin’ and battle it out fair and square. He believes cutting things short would only tick off voters and stop the party from uniting to take down President Joe Biden in the big battle come November. And let’s be real, most folks can agree that Biden is snoozing on the job, and a change of scenery in the White House wouldn’t hurt.
Now, as the Republicans gear up for the next primary election in South Carolina on Feb. 24, all eyes are on Haley, who hails from the Palmetto State. What’s she been up to? Well, she’s been sending out some moving billboards that poke fun at Trump and Biden’s golden oldie status with a campaign called “Grumpy Old Men.” Classic!
Meanwhile, Trump is still strutting his stuff and held a rally in South Carolina, where he didn’t hold back on his thoughts about Biden. He straight up called him “grossly incompetent.” Ouch! And to add a little spice, he kinda sorta chuckled about not facing much competition in the Republican primary race so far.
